1. Amina Mohamed
Ambassador Amina Mohammed is a renowned and highly decorated diplomat with over 28 years experience. She has worked represented Kenya at many United Nations organizations and rose to serve as United Nation’s Assistant Secretary General and Deputy Executive Director, United Nations Environmental Program(UNEP) with its global headquarters in Nairobi. Previously, she has also served as a Permanent Secretary between 2008 and 2011.
She was appointed to the cabinet in 2013 and was instrumental in President Uhuru kenyatta’s many trips abroad and high profile visits to Kenya by world leaders.
2. Phylis Kandie
Phylis Kandie was appointed to the cabinet in 2013. She is married to Ambassador Julius Kandie. She studied business in Canada and the UK.
Mrs. Kandie is an investment banker and prior to her nomination, she worked as the Director, Investment Advisory Services at Standard Investment Bank. Previously, she was a Business Advisory Consultant for the SME sector having consulted for the World Bank and European Union. She has also several boards including the Kenya Revenue Authority.
