On the night Jacklyn Zakayo killed her boyfriend Kennedy Oyatsi in Ongata Rongai, neighbours heard a bitter altercation that was accompanied by screams.
By the time they got to the house and broke in, Kennedy was dead. They found blood splattered all over the floor.

47-year-old Oyatsi lay on the floor with stab wounds. The murder weapon, a broken kitchen wife, was also on the floor.
However, his girlfriend, 27-year-old Jacklyn was nowhere to be seen.
“Upon arrival, neighbours noticed blood splatter patterns littered the house floor and the murder weapon, a broken kitchen knife,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said.
Efforts by the well-wishers to rush Oyatsi to nearby Sinai hospital turned futile after he was declared dead on arrival, the DCI further said.
Oyatsi was a driver at the Kenya School of Law. Detectives later arrested Jacklyn over the murder of Oyatsi.
