We got funding during Ruto trip but won't tell you how much - Gachagua

The Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday claimed that President William Ruto had acquired a loan in a recent international travel but the government will not be revealing how much.

DP Gachagua made the claims when he attended a church event at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Dallas, Embu County on November 12, 2023.

“The President was recently out of the country and we received funding. We do not want to say how much because the media is always following us and when we say something, they expose us making donors withdraw support,” said DP Gachagua.

He went on to tell area residents that a road known as Ring Road in Embu County would be completed with the newly acquired funds, as will all the other stalled projects.

His remarks came barely weeks after President Ruto traveled to China for what was termed as a bid to source for funds. However, his trip was criticized as unsuccessful and the government was said not to have successfully sourced for the funds from the Chinese government.

Gachagua further claimed that coffee and tea reforms were working. He once again said that he had secured international traders who would be buying coffee directly from the farmers.
