“Throughout our years of working with Kenyan communities, we have come to appreciate that education, health, and economic empowerment are some of society’s pressure points and where there is potential to change our communities for the better. Education can unlock our communities’ potential and enhance our people’s livelihoods, regardless of their background. Through our
Foundations, we have consistently invested in Education by collaborating with the Ministry of Education, County Governments, and local communities.

In line with our purpose of transforming lives, we continue to collaborate with various partners, including the Ministry of Education, to invest in school renovation projects across the country, with a focus on the neediest cases,” said Joseph Ogutu,
Chairman, Safaricom Foundation.

Since its inception in 2010, M-Pesa Foundation’s education programs have benefitted over 1.3 million learners in all 47 counties through infrastructure projects and the M-Pesa Foundation Academy, which enrolls children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
