Safaricom Brings M-PESA Sokoni Caravan to Rift Valley

Safaricom (NSE: SCOM), has embarked on the second leg of its M-PESA Sokoni ‘Maisha Fiti, Biz Shwari’ in the Rift Valley region, following a successful kick-off in the Coast region earlier this June. The tour is a celebration of 18 years of M-PESA’s impact, rewarding and celebrating its customers through engaging activities, great rewards, and community-focused initiatives.

The caravan tour kicks off in Turbo this morning, where it rewarded its customers with goodies such as shopping vouchers, electronics, cash rewards, merchandise, and other surprises through the popular game show “M-PESA or the Box.” The caravan is expected to traverse various estates in Rift Valley, including Turbo, Matunda, Moi’s bridge, Kitale town, Eldoret, Baringo and Nakuru to celebrate customers as part of the M-PESA @18 celebrations.

“We began our M-PESA Sokoni Festival tour in the Coast region in June, and now we are thrilled to bring the excitement to Rift Valley.  As part of the M-PESA @18 celebrations, we’re treating our customers to a variety of gifts, entertainment as well as other engaging forums. I invite everyone within the region to come out in large numbers to join us as we celebrate this significant milestone as we show our appreciation for being part of our shared journey,” said Dr. Peter Ndegwa, CBS, CEO, Safaricom PLC.
