NCBA Branch Network expands to 88 with opening of Kenol And Muranga Branches

NCBA Group has opened two bank branches in Kenol and Muranga bringing its branch network to 88 as it seeks to grow its business by reaching out to new customers in the counties.

The bank which has been on a branch expansion exercise since 2021, plans to open an additional 10 branches in 2023. NCBA Group Managing Director, John Gachora, said the expansion of its branch network in the counties remains an integral part of its overall growth strategy.

“I am delighted to be here today to celebrate the opening of our newest branches in Muranga County. This is an exciting moment for our bank, and we are excited to be expanding our reach and better serving our customers in this agriculturally rich county. Given their strategic location, the new branches will be closer to our customers ensuring fast and easy access to our innovative banking solutions,” said Gachora.

Muranga County Executive Committee Trade, Industry, Tourism and Cooperatives Mr. Paul Kimani Mugo, said,

“I am proud to note that our county is ripe with opportunities for investors seeking to grow and diversify their portfolios. The opening of this bank branch is a testament to the growing business and investment opportunities that Murang'a County has to offer. It is my belief that the opening of this NCBA branch will allow farmers to access financing with ease, and will allow the people of Murang’a to inject funds into mechanizing their farming activities”

Gachora said the bank aims to have a presence in at least all counties by 2026. “As a bank, we believe that when we bring our financial services closer to the people, they flourish. The bodaboda, mama mboga, and traders can now easily access financial services to expand their businesses. This to us matters a great deal. When our customers succeed, we do as well.

What matters to our customers, matters to us.” said Gachora. The bank has adopted an omnichannel approach, with customers mainly serviced digitally for many transactional tasks but with the flexibility to visit a branch in person for more complex tasks.

“Many of our customers who visit our branches are looking for more complex financial solutions such as asset financing, working capital, mortgages, and even investment solutions,” said Gachora.

Gachora said the bank is now redesigning its branches to better cater to personal relationships and longer conversations, by rethinking sitting areas, meeting spaces, and teller interactions. The branch openings were a culmination of activities that NCBA engaged in the whole week in the County to engage customers and strengthen its brand presence in the region. The events included customer engagement events, partnership engagements, and tree-planting activities as a part of NCBA’s CSR.
