Chris Kirubi’s firm gets lucrative deal to hire NYS graduates

Chris Kirubi Businesses: A firm associated with billionaire Chris Kirubi has inked a deal to hire graduates from the National Youth Service (NYS). Following the deal, Centum Investment’s security arm, Tribus TSG, will hire 300 people graduating from the National Youth Service (NYS) annually.

According to a report that appeared in the Business daily on Tuesday, the NYS will facilitate the recruitment and selection of youths for employment by Tribus TSG and help in processing of police clearance certificates for selected teams. “Tribus TSG will then deploy the youth to its diverse clientele base in sectors including NGOs, real estate, education, manufacturing, media and hospitality,” says the report.

The report further says that the NYS graduates will be hired annually in nine job categories including safety and security, soft services and hard services. “Soft services includes hygiene technicians and consumable operators while hard services includes electrical and water service workers,” says the report. “Other graduates will be posted in Tribus’ ICT department, catering, hospitality, entertainment and events as well as construction and agriculture.”

According to the Business daily, Tribus TSG is a subsidiary of Centum Investment Plc. It was founded in 2017 and conducts business around Security Management, Training and Governance.

“The company has since evolved into a solutions company with a full spectrum of offering in Security Management, Facility management, Customer Facing Services and Entertainment. It is currently headed by James Nicholl, whose profile indicates past experience in the British Army as well as a stint as general manager at Securex Limited before joining the Centum-owned firm in 2017,” says the Business Daily.
