‘Drunk Prado driver’ kills tuktuk passengers along Eastern Bypass

A drunk driver is suspected to have killed six people on Sunday morning through a road accident that occurred along the Eastern Bypass.

A video clip of the driver looking drunk and being accused of killing six people went viral on social media on Sunday morning.

“You have killed six people! Have you ever seen a dead person? They are there! you have killed there,” a witness in the video clip was heard telling the driver.

Following the accident, a report said that the actual number of victims was three and not six.

Apparently, the victims died after the Tuktuk they were traveling in was sandwiched between a Nissan and a Toyota Prado. The alleged drunk driver was driving the Prado.

The Sunday morning accident occurred near Green Valley Estate on Eastern Bypass after a speeding Toyota Prado hit a tuk-tuk which then rammed into the matatu in front of it.

Two others sustained injuries and were rushed to Kenyatta University Teaching Referral and Research Hospital (KUTTRH).

‘The driver, identified as Cosmas Mutembei, has been arrested and he is undergoing Alcoblow tests at Ruiru Police Station,” Ruiru police commander Cecilia Kemboi said.
