Haji cleanses Gachagua, set to withdraw multi-billion corruption case

The Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has withdrawn a multi-billion corruption case against deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

DPP Haji on Wednesday told the court that the corruption case was being withdrawn to allow the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to conduct a proper probe on the Sh. 7.5 billion scandal involving Gachagua.

Milimani Anti-Corruption Court Magistrate Victor Wakumile allowed the DPP to request to postpone the hearing scheduled for Monday and Tuesday so that the prosecutors can review the case before giving directions on whether or not the trial will proceed.
