Salary Kanze Dena earns as State House spokesperson

Kanze Dena salary

Kanze Dena Salary: Not too many people would have expected Kanze Dena to leave her prime time job at Royal Media Services’ Citizen Tv. Neither would anyone have predicted the departure of Manoah Esipisu as State House spokesperson.

Yet this is exactly what happened. Kanze left her job to replace Manoah at State House.  This was in no doubt a huge money move. Shortly after leaving citizen, word spread on the estimated salary that had seen her make the switch.

Apparently, Ms. Dena, who was appointed to the State communication job in June 2018 takes home an estimated salary of up to Sh. 800,000 per month.

This amount is estimated to be about four times the amount that she was earning at her former job at Royal Media Group’s Citizen Tv. The salary does also not inclusive bonuses and allowances. This means that when allowances are included, it could very well hit Sh. 1 million, with some reports placing her allowances at around $2000 or Sh. 200,000.

Ms. Dena started her broadcasting career at KBC where she was the main female Swahili news anchor. She was at the station until she was poached by Royal Media Group.

At Citizen Tv, Kanze was co-hosting weekend Swahili news together with Lulu Hassan who was poached to the station from KTN.

Although Ms. Dena joined State House as an experienced media personality, her time at the top job has also been characterized by multiple communication gaffes. This has been unlike Manoah’s tenure. However, Ms. Dena made history as the first mainstream media woman to hold the position.

Interestingly, her former co-host Lulu Hassan has flourished in the media and enjoys a cordial relationship with State House, perhaps thanks to her friend and former co-host Dena.
