Ruto appoints woman who hid from KRA, Cops at Weston as CA boss

President William Ruto has appointed businesswoman Mary Wambui as the chairperson of the Communications Authority of Kenya.

Wambui’s appointment as CA boss has been made hours after former CA chairperson Gilbert Kibe was fired from the position.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the Kenya Information and Communications Act, I, William Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces of the Republic of Kenya, appoint—Mary Wambui Mungai to be the Chairperson of the Board of Communications Authority of Kenya,” a gazette notice by President Ruto cited.

Following the appointment, Wambui will now serve for a term of three years, with effect from the 2nd December 2022. The president announced that the appointment of Gilbert Kibe had been revoked.
