Customers of Safaricom’s e-commerce platform Masoko will enjoy discounts and deals of up to 25 percent off during this year’s Valentine’s Day on all items above Kshs. 1,000
Besides phones, electronics, foodstuff, beverages and other household items, customers will also be able to buy flowers, chocolates, wines and other valentine gifts for their loved ones at highly discounted prices.
Since December last year, Masoko customers have been enjoying various deals ranging from home shopping, beauty and fashion, phones and accessories, electronics and gadgets with discounts of up to 85 percent during the Masoko shopping festival which ended end of January this year.
Commenting recently on the E-commerce platform Bob Collymore, Safaricom CEO said “Masoko hopes to unlock the untapped e-commerce market in Kenya by connecting consumers, merchants and vendors to each other using a powerful online portal. By leveraging the strength and reach of our network, our customer base, and a number of partnerships with vendors, we hope to create a solution that can power the next phase of growth for the Kenyan economy.”
Based on the growth of the e-commerce industry over the past five years, the Communications Authority of Kenya has estimated the industry to be worth over Kshs 4.3 Billion, numbers that are expected to rise as more customers embrace the online shopping model.
