With an annual traffic processing rate of under 2 million passengers, the Moi International Airport has been recognised as the best Airport in Africa for customer experience.

Moi International Airport received recognition for its exceptional passenger experiences through awards issued by the Airports Council International (ACI World).

These annual excellence awards are based on metrics that assess the customer experience of passengers who used the airport the previous year, gathered through Departure and Arrival Surveys.

“The prestigious Airports Council International (ACI World) has awarded Moi International Airport (MIA), Mombasa, the 2023 Best Airport by Size and Region in the Under 2 million Passenger Per Year category for Africa,” KAA wrote in a statement.

The ACI Airport Service Quality survey, launched in 2006, has become a standard for measuring passenger satisfaction at airports. It involves participation from 400 airports across 109 countries.

Moi International Airport has previously won these awards twice, in 2021 and 2022.

“This accolade reaffirms our commitment to providing exceptional experiences to all our passengers and serves as an inspiration for us to continue elevating our standards, ensuring MIA remains a leader in its category,” said KAA MD Henry Ogoye.

Following closely behind Moi International Airport in the rankings were Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar, Tanzania, and Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

The Director General of ACI World, Luis Felipe de Oliveira, congratulated the KAA for setting the benchmark in providing global standard airport services.

“Congratulations to the whole team at Moi International Airport in Mombasa on their success in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. Your dedication to excellence in customer experience sets a benchmark for airports worldwide! Keep setting the bar high,” he said.
