Mukurwe-Ini MP candidate calls voters illiterate after losing

Co-Op post

A parliamentary candidate who was seeking to become the new Mukurwe-Ini MP has left a sour taste in the mouths of voters after conceding defeat.

The candidate, Levi Munyeri, alluded that voters in the constituency were illiterate and of a lower IQ, which was why they were unable to vote in a person of his intellectual ability.

“I concede defeat in the Mukurwe-ini parliamentary race. The intellectual margin between the electorate and myself was too wide to enable the meeting of minds,” said Munyeri.

The Mukurwe-Ini MP aspirant became the second candidate after Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya to tell off voters for turning him down.

In 2013, Kimunys had written a letter and authorized the presiding officer in Kipipiri to read it aloud to area voters.

In the letter, he had accused the Kipipiri voters of being ungrateful for rejecting his bid. Kimunya had claimed that he had developed Kipipiri to an extent where he did not deserve to be votes out.
