Kenyans who rely on DStv for entertainment will now have to cough up more money to stay connected. This is after MultiChoice, the company that owns DStv and GOtv, announced that it is increasing the prices of DStv packages by up to Sh. 500.
All the new prices of DStv packages will come into effect starting from November 1. Under the new cost of DStv packages the Premium package will cost Sh. 11,000 from Sh. 10,500.
Subscribers of Compact Plus package will now pay Sh. 6,800 up from Sh. 6,500. The Compact package on the other hand will cost Sh. 3,900 up from Sh. 3,700 while the Family Package will cost Sh. 2,100 up from Sh. 2,000.
“We would like to inform you that Multichoice will be making adjustments to some of its DStv subscription prices effective November 1, 2024,” the company said in a notice on October 1, 2024.

This will be the second time this year that the company is adjusting its subscription prices upwards. The current subscription prices were the result of a similar increase that was effected in April this year.
Multichoice has been experiencing mounting losses amidst falling subscription numbers. In June 2024, the company announced a full year loss of Sh. 34.8 billion for the full year period ended March 2024.
