Edwin Sifuna is the new Nairobi Senator. He has defeated Bishop Margaret Wanjiru to the seat.
Sifuna was vying for the seat on an ODM seat. Wanjiru was vying on a UDA party ticket.
Sifuna managed to garner 716,876 votes against Wanjiru who garnered 524,021 votes.
Sifuna will take over from Johnson Sakaja who was elected as the Governor of Nairobi after defeating corporate face Polycarp Igathe.
