Tuju accuses Chebukati of secretly meeting him; fails to disclose agenda

Raphael Tuju on Sunday alleged that Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Wafula Chebukati demanded for a meeting with him at a secret location.

However, when he was asked what the meeting was about, Tuju, who is the Azimio Executive Director refused to disclose and instead said that the question should be answered by Chebukati.

“I want Chebukati to explain to me, to Kenyans when he came to a secret location to see me in Karen, what that discussion was about?” said Tuju.

Co-Op post

Tuju was speaking during a press briefing that was held at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation.

His accusation has sparked criticism on why he was not bold enough to state the accusation he had against Chebukati that was the subject of the secret meeting he alleged.

“When you accuse someone for committing a wrongdoing, you make full disclosure. You don’t shift the burden of disclosure to the accused. You don’t say ; so and so should tell Kenyans what they came to do in my house. Did so and so call the press conference?” posed sociologist Viscount K’Owuor.
