The Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula has ruled that Kenya Kwanza is the majority party in parliament.

“If it were to be considered a political party, the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party has no elected member in this house today as no elected member was elected under its banner,” he said.

Wetang’ula added that what is clear from the constitution is that the leader of the majority party must lead either a party or a coalition of parties in the National Assembly.

He further ruled Owen Baya will be the Deputy Majority. Silvanus Osoro will be the Majority Party Whip.
