2NK driver fired for reporting bhang smoking students lands bigger job

The 2NK driver who was fired by the 2NK Matatu Sacco for reporting bhang smoking, drunk students has landed a new job. In his new job, the driver known as John Maina Muthoni will be working at the Nyeri County Government as an executive driver.

His pay will certainly be better as County Governments have better paying rates than matatus. Maina was hired by the Nyeri County Governor Mutahi Kahiga who met him at his offices in Nyeri. Drugs abuse is a crime that breaks the hearts of many parents and ruins the lives of many young men and women and we condemn it at the highest level,” Kahiga said.

Maina had courageously drove to Sagana Police Station upon realizing that the high school students he was carrying were smoking bhang and drinking alcohol.

In a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said Maina was transporting students from Nyeri to Nairobi for their mid-term break.

“After failing to contain the rowdy and highly intoxicated students, the 2NK driver resorted to driving them to the nearby police station. Sadly, the 14 students (seven boys and seven girls) jumped from the windows of the moving matatu before Muthoni could reach the report desk. In his own Facebook account, Muthoni has reported that he was sacked for his act of bravely,” part of the statement by DCI read.
