Kimemia loses Nyandarua Governor seat to UDA’s Badilisha

Projections show that current Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia has lost. Kimemia lost the Nyandarua Governor seat to Kiarie Badilisha.

Kimemia was contesting for the seat under the Jubilee party ticket. He lost to Badilisha who was contesting under the UDA party ticket.

Badilisha had lost to Kimemia in the 2017 gubernatorial elections. After contesting for political seats in Nyandarua since 2013, lady luck finally smiled on Badilisha in the 2022 elections.

He first contested for the Ol Kalou parliamentary seat in 2013 under the GNU party that was owned by Mwangi Kiunjuri. He lost. In 2017, he tried his luck as an independent and lost to Kimemia.

Badilisha will be the third Governor of Nyandarua after Kimemia and the first Governor Waithaka Mwangi.

In the parliamentary elections, Jubilee’s David Kiaraho defeated UDA’s Sammy Kamau Ngotho.

In the Women Rep elections, Faith Gitau retained her seat. In the senatorial position, John Methu defeated veteran politician Githiomi Mwangi.
