Susan Kihika has been declared the winner of the Nakuru Governor seat.

Thi is after she defeated the incumbent Governor Lee Kinyanjui. Kihika got 440,797 votes followed by the Kinyanjui who got 225,351 votes.

Kihika was contesting on a UDA party ticket while Kinyanjui contested on Jubilee party ticket. Early projections by Bizna Kenya had already shown that Ms. Kihaki was on her way to victory.

She now becomes the third Governor of Nakuru County after Kinyanjui and Kinuthia  Mbugua who was the first Governor.

Kihik has been serving as the Senator for Nakuru, a seat she won in 2017. Between 2013 and 2017, she served as the speaker of the County Assembly of Nakuru.
