A GSU officer has been buried in Meru by his colleagues alone. This is after his family and friends failed to show up for the burial.
A video that has been circulating online shows officers carrying the late GSU officer’s coffin up a deserted hill for the burial. There is no civilian taking part in the burial.

Unconfirmed reports said hat neighbours and relatives demanded to be paid to bury him, claiming that the late officer had abandoned his people and failed to visit their home since 2006.
The officer was killed during the recent bandit attack in Turkana. Eight security officers, two civilians and one chief met their untimely deaths late last week after they were ambushed by heavily armed bandits in Turkana.
Police spokesman Bruno Shioso said the victims were pursuing a heavily armed gang that had raided a village and made away with unknown number of livestock when they were ambushed.
“The officers were in hot pursuit of Pokot bandits who had raided a village in Turkana East and made away with livestock,” he said.
