The late rally driver Asad Khan was buried on Monday December 19 at the Kariokor Cemetery. He was buried barely 24 hours after he passed away at Avenue Hospital in Nairobi where he was admitted at the High Dependency Unit.

In an interview with the media, the late Asad’s brother Adil narrated the painful extent of the injuries and the final moments of his life.

Adil has also brought out a concern that there might have been a third person in the house where Asad was allegedly assaulted by fellow rally driver and girlfriend Maxine Wahome.

When he was asked about the details that led to the death by the media, Adil said:

“I don’t know! I just don’t know! Perhaps Maxine knows. She was in the house, but I suspect there was someone else in that house too.”

“Why do you suspect so?” he was asked.

“There were three footsteps in the living room, according to photos of the blood-soaked floor I have seen,” he said.

According to a report that appeared in the media, Ms. Wahome’s lawyers have also argued that while she was in the house, it would be wrong to assume that she was the only one who would harm Asad.

Hours before Asad died, there might have been signs that he might not make it. According to Adil, his brother’s organs had started to shut down.

“His organs are failing,” Adil had told me earlier during the interview at his garage in Kilimani. “His liver is gone. And his kidneys. And lungs. And pancrease. And….” he told the media. “But his brain is okay,” he had continued after recovering. “And his heart too. His heart is okay.”

At the same time, the doctors had told the family that if Asad Khan survived, he would never be able to regain the complete use of his vital organs and limbs.
