The highly popular China Square has announced that it will shut down on Sunday to evaluate its business strategy.
This follows accusations from the Cabinet Secretary for Trade and Industrialization Moses Kuria, and traders from the Gikomba, Kamukunji, Muthurwa areas that they are losing customers to the establishment.
China Square has gained popularity among shoppers over what many have seen as affordability of products.
Here is the announcement made by China Square regarding the closure:
“We regret to inform you that China Square Limited will be temporarily closed on Sunday, 26th February 2023.

We are also considering the possibility of cooperating with local traders to enhance our offerings and better integrate with the community.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that you will understand our need to take this action.
