Meet Three Businessmen Who Donated Ksh 100 Million to a Village Primary School

Three businessmen who are Alumni of Highlands Primary School on Monday, April 10, donated Ksh100 million to the Institution for the construction of a modern tuition block.

Speaking during the Easter Monday occasion, the three said they wanted to better education at the Kericho-based institution they schooled in back in the 1950s.

The project that was started three years ago was also made successful by other alumni of the institution who are running thriving businesses in various parts of the world.

“When we started the project, other alumni of the school based in the UK, Canada, and Australia later joined the project forming a group to partner with us, making the project a success,” one of the alumni stated.

They noted that the tuition block at the school was in a deplorable state and did not adequately serve the students at the school.

They also noted the school’s crumbling culture that kept them disciplined during their time, calling for action from teachers and parents.

“The school should become a role model, and we need to see that happening soon. To the parents and children of this school, I think we lost our culture somewhere down the road.

“We need to bring back our culture and discipline, and I think when we get that right, this school will be one of the best,” an alumnus stated.
