Olivia Naserian, the Kitengela mother who slaughtered and dismembered her child on Sunday night has been charged in court.
Olivia slaughtered her two year old daughter Glory Njeri and ingested some of her body organs at their home in Kitengela’s Milimani estate. She was charged before Chief Magistrate Jane Kamau and remanded for ten days.
The woman now says that she attacked her baby because she hates herself and has suffered a lot with her child.
“Ninajichukia mwenyewe. Sijipendi ndio maana niliuawa mtoto wangu. Nimepitia magumu na huyu mtoto. I hate myself. I suffer from low self-esteem. I have gone through a lot with my daughter,” she said.
The woman is reportedly a fourth year commerce student at a local university. She is also said to have acted out of frustration after breaking up with her baby daddy.
Neighbours said that she had locked herself in the house when they heard household utensils and electronics being hurled on the ground. The woman was allegedly naked. Some reports in the media have claimed that the lady might have eaten her daughter’s body parts.
By the time they managed to break into the house, the child was dead and the woman unconscious. The parents of the young mother who lived with her at the same house were not at home when the incident took place.

The murder took place barely two days after a man working at a Pizza shop in Kitengela stabbed his colleague to death for breaking up with him and dating their boss instead.
