Going to the ‘right’ university can help you stand out in crowded opportunities in Kenya. While experience, creativity, leadership, etc., are some things most employers look for in graduates, others will be more interested in where you got your degree.
Various sources have it that most Kenyan employers go for graduate job seekers based on previous experience with graduates from the institution in question.
According to a 2020 study titled ‘State of Graduate Employability in Kenya’ by CPS International, graduates from the University of Nairobi (UoN) are the most preferred in the job market.
This is partly attributed to the fact that many senior executives are drawn from UoN. The institution was ranked as the top university with the most employable graduates, with an employability index of 38.6 percent.
