I regret not quitting earlier – says former bank manager who quit to start selling clothes

When Awuor Indah decided to resign from her job as a relationship manager for entrepreneurship, she received a lot of criticism from her family, who thought she would wander in poverty.

The bold businesswoman was, however, focused on getting the best out of entrepreneurship as she felt the bank job was not giving her the most out of life.

“It was very difficult, given the uncertainty of the future and the fear of not having a constant assured income,” she started.

With full support from her husband, Indah ventured into the world of fashion under the brand name Elegance Couture, where she specializes in African fabrics.

The businesswoman started as an African fabric seller but later diverted to designing and tailoring.

Crediting her success to support from her husband since seven years ago when she started the business, Indah regrets not venturing into entrepreneurship earlier.

“Business is quite awesome at the same time, very challenging, but I knew from the onset it wasn’t going to be easy,”  she stated.

“It is because of the support I received from my husband that has enabled me to be here,” Indah added.

She advised aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue their passion, maintaining that entrepreneurship is sometimes challenging and one must be financially disciplined and have intrinsic motivation.
