Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday offered to sponsor the son of retired Senior Assistant Inspector General of Police Zachary Mwangi King’ori.
Mwangi’s son who is currently studying at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) will also get a job once he completes his studies.
“I have also indicated to my daughter (King’ori’s daughter) here that even his brother who is still at JKUAT and has not finished will be schooled by me. I will stand with him until he finishes school.
“I will come together with other friends so that when he completes his education, we can give him a job opportunity so that he continues to shine his father’s star,” Uhuru, who was speaking during the burial of the former police boss in Nyeri, said.

The former Head of State further donated Ksh1 million towards a foundation that was run by the former police boss where he had been sponsoring needy children.
“He had that foundation at Strathmore that he continued to support and ask for money…the great things he has set, let us continue. In memory of my friend and brother, I pledge Ksh.1 million into the fund so that it may continue to educate more and more children,” Kenyatta noted.
King’ori died on Sunday, February 11 in a hospital in Nairobi where he had been admitted. He served as a Provincial Police Officer in Mombasa, Nairobi and Western regions.
He also served as the director of operations at police headquarters, police spokesman, and director of Kenya Police Campus in Kiganjo.
King’ori was also principal assistant to the Deputy Inspector General of police before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he was attached until his retirement.
He left behind three children and one grandson.
