The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) is now planning to spending an astonishing Sh. 150 million to repair items that were destroyed during the June 25 protests against the Finance Bill 2024 at parliament building.
It was however not clear how or which method the PSC which is chaired by the National Assembly (Bunge) Speaker Moses Wetang’ula is using to quantify the damages they claim run into hundreds of millions of cash.
According to a report that appeared in a local daily, the PSC will engage a private expert to quantify the extent of the damage, after which they will inform the commission.
The PSC will then reportedly engage a contractor to carry out the repairs. The National Assembly was breached on June 25 when Kenyans took to the streets.

Kenyans went to the streets to protest against the Finance Bill 2024 which members of parliament allied to the Kenya Kwanza government were forcing down their throats.
The protestors managed to gain entrance into parliament via the Uhuru Highway after skirting through various blocks that had been mounted by the police.
As the protesting Kenyans made their way into Bunge, reports said that members of parliament who were at the House were evacuated via the underground tunnel, with some reported to have hidden in the basement.
Video clips showed members of parliament being whisked from parliament in ambulances to avoid the wrath of protestors.
