The 2024 Interbank Golf Tournament attracted 298 players from across the country who battled for glory at the par 72 Royal Nairobi Golf Club. This was the 39th edition of the Kenya Institute of Bankers (KIB) interbank sports.
NCBA Bank emerged winners at the prestigious tournament finishing with an impressive 188 points. Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) followed closely in second place, improving from last year’s fourth position with a combined score of 184 points.
The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) secured third place with 180 points, while Stanbic Bank finished in fourth with 178 points.
Millicent Mello said that the interbank tournament goes beyond just work as it provides a chance for banking sector members to connect and have fun. She noted that it also serves as a great way to stay fit, contributing to physical and mental health.
“I am proud of this amazing team for putting on a show at this competitive event. This is a demonstration of the incredible work that goes into preparation for the tournament,” said KCB Bank Golf Captain Millicent Mello.
“We have been playing together in different events, so today’s win did not come as a surprise; it is a testament to teamwork, resilience and dedication to emerge top. We look forward to an even more exciting year,” she added.
In the previous year’s tournament, CBK claimed the top spot with 182 points, narrowly beating NCBA, who secured second with 181 points. Stanbic finished third, collecting 179 points, while KCB landed in fourth place with a total of 177 points.
