The U.S. Kids Golf tournament took place last weekend at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club, hosting brilliant performances from both boys and girls across different age categories.
This was the fourth leg of the U.S. Kids Golf Nairobi 2024 Spring Tour, which started in August. It followed successful events held at Limuru Country Club, Vet Lab Sports Club, and Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club.
This tournament was more than just a competition; it was a lively display of young talent, advancing the growth of youth sports in Kenya.
In the Boys 15-18 category, Krish Vadgama secured the top spot with a score of 21 over par, earning 30 points for the day. He outperformed season leader Henry Kung’u Ndirangu, who still holds the overall lead with 90 points.
In the Girls 13-14 category, Amani Muriithi took first place with a score of 12 over-par, finishing ahead of the category leader, Yolanda Yu, who had one stroke more. Lael Mwangale secured third place in this competitive group.
Andrew Gatheru achieved an impressive score of 4 over par to lead the Boys 13-14 category. He was closely followed by Wahome Mutahi and Justin Ngeera, both finishing at 8 over par. However, Mutahi claimed the second position on a countback.
Kaelyn Munene emerged as the winner of the Girls 11-12 category. Although she and Sigian Yu both recorded scores of 10 over par, Kaelyn took the title on a countback.
The Girls, 9-10 and 8 & Under categories were won by Wangari Kabugu and Elizabeth Mwagale, respectively.
Shuhan Peng topped the Boys 12 category, while Guanzhe Wang, Ishaan Patel, Paren Reel, James Tino, Surya Bongu, and Aryan Patel claimed the top spots in the 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, and 6 & under categories, respectively.

Next week on Sunday, October 6th, attention will turn to the Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club in Nairobi County for the fifth leg of the season.
