Ahmed Farah appointed new Kenya Chamber CEO

The Board of Directors of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) has appointed Ahmed Farah, HSC as the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Chamber.

Farah, takes over from Patrick Nyangweso, who held the position since April 2023.

“KNCCI is confident in Mr. Farah’s vision of driving forward our mandate and serving as a steadfast advocate for Kenya’s business community,” KNCCI Chairman Erick Rutto stated.

“Mr Farah brings an impressive track record of achievements and a wealth of experience that aligns seamlessly with KNCCI’s mission to foster economic growth, support businesses, and enhance Kenya’s global trade footprint,” he added.

Prior to his appointment, Farah served as the Country Director of TradeMark Africa (TMA) Kenya, where he is credited for leading high-impact programs, advancing Kenya’s economic agenda and regional integration.

Among his key achievements is the transformation of SMEs and promoting inclusive trade through initiatives under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework, particularly aimed at supporting women and youth entrepreneurs.

”His efforts in advancing sustainable trade and fostering an investment-friendly environment make him a valuable asset to KNCCI’s leadership team as it champions growth and resilience across Kenya’s economic landscape.”

Farah also sits on Kenya’s National Investment Council, where he plays a role in crafting investment strategies to attract global investors and promote sustainable growth.

He has also served on a presidential think tank focused on rebuilding Kenya’s economy post-COVID-19.

Mr. Farah holds an MA in International Development from the University of Manchester, UK, and a Bachelor of Commerce from Kenyatta University.
