Absa Bank Kenya has concluded a series of empowerment forums in the Mt. Kenya and North Eastern regions, providing 1000 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with a platform to engage and network with industry leaders and to learn about financial solutions to enable sustained business growth and resilience.
Absa Bank Kenya held business club meetings with entrepreneurs from Isiolo, Meru, Garissa, Thika, Nyeri and Murang’a, providing them with access to information, access to sustainable finance, access to markets and access to coaching and mentorship. The mentorship sessions focused on the economic activities in the region, including agriculture, and trade.

Speaking during the forum in Murang’a, Absa Bank Kenya Head of SME Erastus Muthura highlighted the Bank’s commitment to empowering SMEs.
“At Absa Bank Kenya we believe in the power of SMEs in their contribution to growth of the economy. We therefore tailor solutions that enable access to financial and non-financial skills. It is in this regard that we have engaged 1000 SMEs in Mt. Kenya through our Wezesha Caravan tour through which we have created forums to network and interact with business leaders across the country,” said Absa Bank Kenya Head of SME Erastus Muthura.
The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Murang’a Chapter Chairperson Dr. Naomi Kagone lauded the bank for its continued commitment to bring financial services to the grassroots and empowering local businesses to thrive and grow.

Absa Bank Kenya through its business club has been empowering entrepreneurs in the country, equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive in the volatile business environment. The bank has previously hosted the forums in the Rift Valley, Western and Coast regions.
