Popular content creator David Oyando, alias Mulamwah recently shared that he managed to set aside a sum totaling Sh. 1,102,219 by depositing a fixed amount of money each day in 2024.
The comedian told his fans that he would put away Sh. 3,000 daily for a year. He started the challenge a year ago on 15th December 2024. Mulamwah backed his revelation by taking screenshot of his Equity Bank account and posting it on his social media.
“God is great – 3K per day savings challenge completed for 2024. Started on December 15 last year, just saving pole pole. How much have you saved? If you haven’t, let’s start together for next year,” Mulamwah wrote in his post.
Mulamwah encouraged his followers to embrace a savings culture. His savings feat goes to show that with discipline and commitment, one can achieve impressive results – in this case, Mulamwah’s Sh. 1.1 million.
In the past, he told his followers that ‘saving is life-saving’, urging them to adopt a savings culture, regardless of the amount they can spare daily.
“It doesn’t matter how much – Sh. 20, 50, 100 or 1000 per day is okay. Try to save cash because it will always save you back. Now, let’s add a plot of land to this. For those who started the savings boxes with me last year, when should we break them?” Mulamwah questioned.
In 2023, Mulamwah took a similar challenge by saving Sh. 1,000 daily. In December 2023, he joined thousands of Kenyans to break their home bank savings to reveal the amount.

He sat outside a mud-thatched house and broke a small wooden box, pouring the notes onto the floor. Different banknotes fell ranging from Sh. 50 and Sh. 1000.
He collected the money and took the amount to his partner, Ruth K and a relative who were tasked with counting the amount. It totaled to Sh. 365,000.
“We are opening our 2023 savings. Last year, we agreed to start together and here we are. I took on the Sh. 1,000 daily challenge and now I have Sh. 365,000,” he stated.
