“I Am Still Not Making Enough Money From My Parcel Delivery Business But I Won’t Give Up”, Vows Defiant College Entrepreneur

By Bizna Brand Analyst

William Muiriri is a second-year student who runs a company called Sparrow Sky Logistics. It deals with delivery of parcels and letters, basically errands. William’s client base consists of family, friends and referrals but he hasn’t broken even yet. Despite the difficulties he endures, he isn’t going to give up. He has dreams that his company will become the largest courier in Kenya someday

“A relative funded me a hundred thousand shilling to purchase a motorcycle, which I use to do deliveries. Currently, I work alone, sometimes with the help of a friend, but I am hoping to have employees in future.” Says William

At the moment he makes around five thousand shillings a month. This is due to a number of challenges such as juggling between school and work. He also has difficulties getting new clients since a lot of people don’t know about his company.

“In order for my business to expand, I will have to purchase more delivery bikes and advertise my services as much as I can. Unfortunately, I don’t have the funds to do all that at the moment. However, I am positive that things will be better. There is power in business and I won’t rest until my company becomes a success.”

It’s clear that William’s spirit is unquestionable. A strong streak of defiance is the secret to making it through the wave of startup difficulties. There is no room for doubt and second-guessing yourself. Many of today’s most successful companies made it because their founders were defiant in response to the onslaught of negativity and stress.

Currently, he only does deliveries around Nairobi at cheap rates that anyone can foord. Safety of the package is guaranteed, as well as time. Nothing arrives to it’s destination late. Despite his other commitments, William ensures that his clients come fast

He will definitely make it, even if it’s not this business specifically. You hear it all the time from famous entrepreneurs: Long before they were running multimillion-dollar companies, they were flexing their entrepreneurial skills by selling small stuff to their friends and schoolmates, building gadgets in their garage or coming up with whatever innovative activities they could to make a few bucks. It seems that behind every successful mogul is a kid who grew up knowing they were born for business

All the best William. Here at Bizna, we appreciate entrepreneurs like you.
