KUCCPS opens applications for Teacher Training Colleges, how to apply

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened its portal for placement in teaching courses in the September 2025 intake.

In a statement on Thursday, March 6, the placement service said the exercise will run until March 20, 2025.

KUCCPS is seeking to fill 13,823 slots available in the 36 public Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) in the country.

“A total of 13,823 slots are available in the 36 public Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) for the September 2025 intake into the Diploma in Primary and Secondary Teacher Education programmes. The application period will run until March 20, 2025,” KUCCPS stated.

Currently, there are 3 colleges offering Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education, with a capacity to admit 2,735 students. They include Kagumo TTC, Kibabii TTC, and Lugari TTC.

The other 33 institutions  are offering Diploma in Primary Teacher Education and are set to admit 11,088 learners.

How to apply

KUCCPS urged interested applicants to submit applications online on the Student’s Portal, accessible through the KUCCPS website www.kuccps.ac.ke.

Applicants seeking a chance in the primary TTCs must have at least a mean grade of C (plain) in KCSE or equivalent, while those seeking enrolment into Diploma in Secondary Education are required to have a minimum of C+ in KCSE or equivalent.

Those with other qualifications different from KCSE should seek equation from Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) to enable them to apply.

Interested and qualified Form Four leavers from the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) cohort and those from previous years are encouraged to apply. The application is open to Kenyans and non-Kenyan citizens.

“Applicants are advised to be vigilant to 3 avoid becoming victims of online fraudsters. Those who may require support are encouraged to visit KUCCPS offices at ACK Garden House on 1st Ngong Avenue, Community Area, Nairobi, any of the 58 Huduma Centres spread across the country or, any of the above-listed TTCs near them,” KUCCPS advised.
