The United States government has launched a program offering expedited visa processing for wealth foreigners. The program that is dubbed as the Trump Gold Card will require applicants to pay at least $1 million (Sh129 million) to the United States government. There will also be a processing fee of $15,000 (Sh1.9 million).
Under the Trump Gold Card, applicants will benefit from what has been termed as a direct path to US Citizenship. They will first get a permanent resident card popularly known as the Green Card and will be eligible to get citizenship in five years.
“For a $15,000 DHS processing fee and, after background approval, a contribution of $1 million, receive US residency in record time with the Trump Gold Card,” the Trump Card official application website states.
Once an applicant sends in their application, they will undergo a vetting process that will also include a visa interview. The process from the time they apply to the time they receive their visas is expected to last a couple of weeks, as opposed to traditional visa programs that take months.

At the same time, the application site shows that the US government is planning to launch another program dubbed as the Trump Platinum Card. Under this program, applicants will be required to pay a fee of $5 million (Sh645 million) plus a processing fee of $15,000 (Sh1.9 million).
“Foreign nationals can sign up now and secure their places on the waiting list for the Trump Platinum Card. When launched, and upon receipt of a $15,000 DHS processing fee and $5 million contribution, they will have the ability to spend up to 270 days in the United States without being subject to US taxes on non-U.S. income,” the website stated.
However, individuals who have previously been subjected to US tax on non-US income such as US citizens and resident foreigners will not eligible to apply for the Trump Platinum Card.
