Skyward Airlines launches direct Nairobi–Garissa glights

Garissa is a key commercial, administrative and humanitarian Centre in Northeastern Kenya.

Skyward Airlines is pleased to announce the launch of scheduled direct flights between Nairobi and Garissa, extending the airline’s regional network deeper into Northeastern Kenya and opening up new travel, trade and investment opportunities for the region.

The new route strengthens Wilson Airport’s position as a domestic hub, giving travellers, traders and businesses a faster, more reliable link between Nairobi and Garissa County. Flights operate four times weekly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with fares starting from KES 9,000, departing Wilson Airport (WIL) at 11:00 and arriving in Garissa (GAS) at 11:50.

Garissa is a key commercial, administrative and humanitarian Centre in Northeastern Kenya. The new service offers. residents and visitors a direct air link to Nairobi, cutting travel time significantly and providing seamless onward connections through Wilson Airport to Skyward’s wider network across Kenya and the region, including Mombasa, Eldoret, Lodwar, Lamu, Malindi, Ukunda/Diani, Kisumu, Migori, Kitale and Dar es Salaam.

Speaking on the new route, Skyward Airlines Chief Executive Officer, Diana Nyambura, said:

Beyond passenger travel, the new route is expected to support the movement of goods and time-sensitive cargo between Nairobi and Garissa, boosting trade links and giving local businesses more efficient access to the wider Kenyan market.
