Sharon Chepchirchir: A former journalist with a local daily who unsuccessfully vied for an MCA seat at Ng’enyilel ward in Turbo, Uasin- Gishu County is staring at a bleak future after auctioneers knocked at her door demanding dues spent during the 2017 campaigns.
Sharon Chepchirchir, 28, told a news outlet that she needs urgent aid to shake off the auctioneers and people she contracted during the 2017 August polls.

According to Chepchirchir, her woes started after she resigned from her job and sought the seat.
In a quest to serve her people under the Jubilee party banner, she traversed the ward on a camel’s back selling her policies that sought, among others, to assist the vulnerable in the society.
Unfortunately, the journalist exhausted her resources and eventually lost the elections. Her leg is now almost paralyzed and is appealing for well-wishers to come to her aid.
“I’ve been having sleepless nights wondering where I will get the money. In fact my leg is almost being paralyzed on one side,” said Chepchirchir.
She called on the Jubilee administration to remember candidates who fought for the party, sought elective seats but lost, “I know most of them are suffering in silence yet they are undergoing the same problem.”
