Bishop Mark Kariuki behind sale of Sh. 11 billion real estate project

On Saturday 4, July 2020, a new real estate project estimated to be worth Sh. 11 billion was launched in Kiambu County. Among those who made the strongest pitch for the project was the head of Deliverance Church Bishop Mark Kariuki. “Owning a home is for the long run the most deliberate investment,” he was quoted as saying. Bishop Mark Kariuki was not just an ordinary buyer at the project. Neither had he been invited to offer a word of prayer.

He occupied the lead position as the chairman of Tushia Global Holdings. This is the consultancy and sales firm that has been tasked with marketing and selling the project dubbed Samara Estate. This project, whose launching was also graced by Housing and Urban Development Principal Secretary Charles Hinga, seats along the expansive 774 hectares of Migaa Golf Course.

“Samara Estate is an aspirational living housing project that will stand as a testimony for many Kiambu residents and Kenyans at large,” Bishop Kariuki said. “The estate will house close to 2,000 units and become a home to countless more. Indeed, the typical Kenyan no longer wants to rent or lease for a time. But, as this crisis continues to show us, owning a home is for the long run the most deliberate investment.”

According to reports, the 1,920 housing units project is being developed by Sycamore Pine Ltd in conjunction with Safaricom and Shelter Afrique. The houses are being constructed by the China Syno Hydro Building Company and it involves the construction of affordable houses for as low as Sh. 1 million to be owned by Kenyans earning less than Sh. 20,000. The units will sell at Sh. 2.95 million and Sh. 3.95 million for the two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments respectively.
