Popular Capital FM disc jockey, Dj Lithium has died by suicide. Dj Lithium died after taking poison while at Capital FM offices in the Central Business District in Nairobi where was working on Wednesday night.
The Dj whose real is Alex Nderi is believed to have taken rat poison. According to a report that appeared in the Radio Africa’s The Star, the Dj had also left a suicide note behind. “After he took the poison, the deejay walked back to the offices and collapsed,” the report said.
His workmates tried to resuscitate him in vain. They then rushed him to the Nairobi Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
The report said that before his death by suicide, Dj Lithium had deleted all his social media accounts and texted close friends and family telling them he is gone.
Kilimani area head of police Muturi Mbogo said that the Dj was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and was confirmed dead on arrival.

“We understand that he swallowed poison in his office after a series of events,” Mbogo said. Apparently, his death was reported to the police after he had been taken to he hospital. It was however not immediately clear what the Dj had said in his suicide note.
