Real Househelps of Kawangware actress Bernice Njeri, popularly known as Njambi, recently opened up about her financial struggles due to lavish lifestyle.

Speaking on the podcast “Shared Moments With Justus,” Njambi revealed living up to a celebrity lifestyle left her in debt, including being auctioned.

She explained that some of the things that drained her finances were living in upscale neighborhoods, splurging on expensive items, and using cabs to commute to various places.

Even though her life was then smooth, things took a different turn in 2018 when her sources of income dried up leaving her with no financial aid and zero savings.

The actress revealed she ended up losing her property to auctioneers over rent arrears. Following the auction, Njambi and her daughter moved into a single room where they lived for three months.

“Society can pressure public figures into maintaining a certain lifestyle. Nowadays, I use public transport, and if people see me living within my means, they assume I’ve fallen on hard times.” She said.

She added that none of her friends or even castmates knew about her situation. The mother of two noted that she is now focused on rebuilding her life and making smarter financial decisions while advising the youths to resist societal pressure.
