Association Of Kenya Professional Insurance Agents – AKI Awards
Guided by the theme, Flourishing in a Disruptive Environment, AKI, Association of Kenya Professionals Insurance Agents awards took place on 11th March 2022 at Carnivore.
The acclaimed event resumed this year after taking a break in 2021 due to covid 19; therefore, the recognition was for the work put in in 2020.
Insurance awards assess, recognize and celebrate innovation, prudence and stability in the sector, by recognizing individuals and organizations that have exhibited outstanding performance in the sector.
Telkom, Britam partner on mobile and insurance product
Prudential Life Assurance was the biggest winner after bagging two awards; Innovation Company Award 2020 and Prudential agent, Emmah Kaara, taking the Agent of the Year Award, 2020.
Prudential was the first company to introduce a free Covid- 19 benefit in 2020 to their staff, agents, customers and business partners. The move strengthened the company’s authority in the industry, which also saw them bag the prestigious award.
Jubilee and Britam Insurance were named the best in the general insurance and life insurance categories. The most prestigious winner of the night however had to be Britam, who won the company of the year award for the 15th year in a row.
ICEA Lion Group, UAP-OLD Mutual, CIC Group, APA Insurance, Fidelity Insurance, Madison Insurance, Liberty and Kenindia Insurance also won in different categories.
The awards process focuses on the financial stability and growth of industry players. In addition, the process seeks to celebrate players embracing innovation in product development and distribution, enhanced risk management practices, investing in the profession, adopting good corporate governance practices, as well as engaging in sustainable social corporate responsibility projects.
The event saw 1000 guests in attendance as compared to the previous event which only had 200 guests.
