Amos Kimunya loses Kipipiri MP seat

Kimunya was contesting for the seat on a Jubilee party ticket. He was facing off against Wanjiku Muhia and Samuel Gichigi.

Kimunya had regained his seat in the 2017 elections after losing in 2013 to his former personal assistant Samuel Gichigi.

He was infamous for writing a protest letter in 2013 in which he accused the people of Kipipiri for being ungrateful. He claimed that he had been kicked out of his seat despite having contributed immensely to the development of the constituency.

In 2017, though, he beat Gichigi to regain his seat. On the other end, Wanjiku Muhia was making a re-entry into elective politics after losing the Women Rep position in the 2017 elections to Faith Gitau.

Ms. Gitau has been reelected to this position.
