How Sh. 19.9 million shylock loan landed Keroche heiress in trouble

Keroche heiress Anerlisa Muigai’s worth has been put to question after it emerged that she is reeling to debts amount to over Sh. 19 million. Apparently, she owes a city shylock identified as Dennis Mwangeka Sh. 19.9 million.

It is claimed that Ms. Muigai borrowed from Mr Mwangeka to clear demurrage charges on her goods that had accumulated promising him to pay back the first loan with 10 per cent interest and the second loan with five per cent interest.

The court papers further break down the loan tranches taken on September 9, 2015 as Sh. 5.5 million which she said was for clearing goods at the port of Mombasa. She was to pay a 10 per cent interest, or Sh. 6 million, after a week, but upon maturity, she borrowed a further Sh4.2 million, arguing the goods had accrued demurrage charges which needed clearing.

On September 21, 2015, Anerlisa paid Sh. 346,000 to settle part of her first loan, which was Sh5.5 million, and promised to clear the balance by September 24 of the same year. Things became thick for the rich kid, who is known for her flamboyant lifestyle, and she handed Mwangeka another car, an Audi Q7, as security and promised to settle her loan balance on September 25, 2015.

When Mwangeka tried calling her on the said date, she had promised to pay the loan but she allegedly became elusive and would ignore his calls.

According to suit papers drawn by Kuloba & Wangila Advocates, Anerlisa borrowed three loans totalling to Sh13 million from Mwangeka and gave two vehicles, a Range Rover Evoque (KBU 5***R) and an Audi Q7 KBX 8***N), as security.

It has since turned out that the Range Rover actually belonged to her mother and her lender has been forced to give it back.

Anerlisa is the CEO of Nero Water Company. It is claimed that she borrowed the money in the name of her ex-boyfriend Ben Kangangi.

The suit has put to the question Anerlisa Muigai’s worth given that she lives a highly lavish lifestyle and is said to be worth tens of millions.
