22-year-old Eli Kipruto Rotich has won Sh. 200 million Betika Mega Jackpot after correctly predicting 17 matches.

Following his mega win, Kipruto will receive Sh. 160 million, with the remainder of Sh. 40 million going to taxes. This is because the jackpot win is subject to a 20 per cent withholding tax.

Betika announced on Tuesday that the mega jackpot had been won.

Other winners who predicted 12 to 16 matches correctly received bonuses. A free bet was awarded to those who correctly predicted 11 matches, and Sh. 2,814 was awarded to those who correctly predicted none.

This is the first time that the Betika grand jackpot has been won.

Rotich, who is also a student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, will receive financial guidance from Betika on how to manage his winnings.
