Boni Khalwale wins Kakamega Senate seat

Boni Khalwale has won the Kakamega senatorial seat.

He garnered 247,860 votes against his closest competitor Brian Lishenga who got 195,052 votes.

The win marks the re-entry into national politics for Boni, who had previously appeared to be losing ground in his home county of Kakamega.

Khalwale was first elected to the Senate in 2013. In 2017, he vied for the Governor seat but lost to outgoing Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

His main competitor Lishenga conceded defeat and thanked his supporters for the votes hr managed to get.
