The president’s daughter Charlene Ruto has come out to address her new office dubbed Office of the First Daughter.
In a release that came out on Wednesday, Ms. Ruto said that her office is not anchored by the constitution. Neither is it funded by the taxpayers. She said that it is a private entity that is privately funded.
“The Office of the First Daughter is a private entity. It is neither a constitutional office nor is it being funded by Kenyan taxpayers. The office runs to purely facilitate the activities of and any programs being run by Ms. Charlene Ruto,” she said.
She added that the aim of her public engagements is to highlight issues affecting the youth.
“Through its independent structure and facilitators, the office has engaged various players across the country and beyond in line with some of its objectives of championing youth based agendas and climate change advocacy,” she said.

“The Office of the First Daughter has at all times acted in good faith to ensure that the Kenyan Youth have a voice and get access to opportunities to enable sustainable livelihoods.”
Charlene caused a stir when she alleged on Tuesday that she holds the Office of the First Daughter. Charlene claimed that she even has a team that includes an advisor in her office. She made these revelations in a video that has since gone viral on social media.
“So before again I continue, I wanted to introduce quickly my team from Kenya. So, I’ll start from the back. This is Mike Sagana, he’s one of my team members. He’s a politician and he’s my principal advisor in my team. And this is Jermaine Momanyi, he is the head of trade and investments at the office of the first daughter…” she told an audience in the video.
The audience went into disbelief, with some clapping and others laughing, to which Charlene said, “…I don’t get what’s funny.”
Charlene has been traveling across the country and has so far met multiple Governors. She has risen to prominence since her father assumed office in August.
