Charlene Ruto can’t catch a break! Days after she caused a stir on social media, the daughter of President William Ruto is facing yet another backlash after claiming that she is running an official office dubbed as office of the first daughter.
This office doesn’t exist in the laws of Kenya.
A few days ago, Charlene claimed that she’s an entrepreneur who started by selling smokies and Kachumbari at Daystar University.
Charlene claims that she even has a team that includes an advisor in her office. She made these revelations in a video that has since gone viral on social media.
“So before again I continue, I wanted to introduce quickly my team from Kenya. So, I’ll start from the back. This is Mike Sagana, he’s one of my team members. He’s a politician and he’s my principal advisor in my team. And this is Jermaine Momanyi, he is the head of trade and investments at the office of the first daughter…” she told an audience in the video.
The audience went into disbelief, with some clapping and others laughing, to which Charlene said, “…I don’t get what’s funny.”

Charlene has been traveling across the country and has so far met multiple Governors. She has risen to prominence since her father assumed office in August.
It is however not clear what her intentions are or how she is being funded, with the new members of her office.
